We held our annual trivia night fundraiser on June 15 from 6:30pm at Carlingford Bowling Club. 2013 marked the 18th Annual National Sporting Weekend in Albury. As per previous years we stayed at the Lake Hume Resort and the weekend ran from Friday 7 to Monday 10 June. The weekend included various sports and social activities and was well attended from around Australia and New Zealand.
The ConnecTeD Foundation hosted their “Diamonds are Forever Ball” which was scheduled for October 2012 on 18 May 2013 at Rosehill Racecourse. The SSPA had a group there and we had a fantastic night supporting this great cause. This was ConnecTeD’s major fundraising event and their largest, most glamorous and successful, in their history!
The branch had a meeting at the home of Troy Parker in King’s Park (western Sydney) on May 18, and had lunch there too. We largely discussed our coming fundraising events – the trivia night and a chocolate selling fundraiser.
We held another Northern Region weekend in Newcastle on the weekend of May 4-5. Our February meeting was held at the home of Michael Blair in Dee Why (Sydney’s Northern Beaches) on Sunday, 24 February 2013. Following the meeting was a bbq lunch.
There was a pool party on Saturday, February 9 at the Mamula’s house in Greystanes (Western Sydney). We had a great day with a good turnout and some wonderful weather. Thanks to everyone that came and to the Mamula’s for hosting this annual event!
We held our 2012 Christmas Party on Saturday, 8 December at Hilltop Phoenix, a Chinese restaurant at Castle Towers. We had a very enjoyable night with some great food and company. Thanks go to Troy and Brittany for organising the night.
Sailability held an open day in Sydney on December 8th and 9th so anyone interested was able to view the boats and find out what it takes to compete at the Paralympic Games.
